Strewth
Strewth is a retro DOS game made with retro DOS tooling. Using the latest and greatest EGA text-mode graphics, we will take you to the world of classical murder mysteries. There's been a party, and someone's been killed. Talk to suspects, explore the large manor, and work out who did the murder, and with what item.
Strewth is inspired by an older DOS game from 1983, "Sleuth" by Eric N. Miller. It started out as a throwaway joke idea - what if "Sleuth", but localised with a more Aussie twang to the dialogue? It quickly became a rabbit-hole of retro-coding nostalgia for me using MS QuickBasic. I hope you enjoy it.
It was officially completed as part of the DOS Games July 2024 Jam : https://itch.io/jam/dos-games-july-2024-jam/entries
